Anita Marshall grew up on the Cape Flats and has been working in the field of child abuse and neglect for 11 years. Through extensive qualitative research she has reached the conclusion that the effects of apartheid cannot be separated from the excessive violence that is evident in South African society.

Anita has been trained as an adult educator and focuses on developing anti-bias education strategies. This book is targeted at young people, believing that youth offers endless potential for positive change and for preparing South Africa for an African century. The stories are not morally or politically correct, in an effort to encourage critical thinking around issues that affect our lives.
