I have yet to come across a collection of poetry glorifying age. Love is very well catered for starting from the Songs of Solomon from the Bible to Shakespeare’s love sonnets as well as love poems from various poets. Not counting songs of love ranging from bliss to blues. I have taken it upon myself to somehow address the situation by bringing out a collection of poems paying homage to senior citizens and I only think it fitting that the poems should be published on my birthday- 24th May, on which auspicious day, I turn 79. Age at times, has the exhuberance of youth. The maturity to enjoy its years. Age is a beautiful phase.
